Juventus vs PSV: betting odds 11 Feb 2025

The first playoff match of the 2024/25 Champions League between Juventus (Italy) and PSV (Netherlands) will take place on February 11 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Juventus vs. PSV: prediction and betting odds, statistics.

Juventus

Thiago Motta's men suffered a 0-2 home defeat to Benfica in the last round of the group stage. As a result, Juventus failed to win for the fifth time in their last six Champions League matches (3 draws, 2 losses). The club dropped to 20th in the standings, which only allowed them to qualify for the playoffs. It is worth noting that the Turin side scored just nine goals during the group stage – only Club Brugge has a worse record among all playoff participants (7).

Defenders Andrea Cambiaso, Pierre Kalulu, Gleison Bremer, and Juan Cabal, along with forward Arkadiusz Milik, will miss the match due to injuries.

  • The team has lost in regular time in 5 of their last 8 home matches in the Champions League.
  • The club has failed to keep a clean sheet in 7 of their last 8 home games in this European competition.
  • Juventus conceded in the second half in 7 of their last 8 home matches in the Champions League.

Predicted lineup for Juventus (4-2-3-1)

Mattia Perin – Nicolo Savona, Renatu Veiga, Federico Gatti, Timothy Weah – Manuel Locatelli, Khephren Thuram – Teun Koopmeiners, Kenan Yildiz, Nicolas Gonzalez – Randal Kolo Muani.

PSV

Peter Bosz's side defeated Liverpool 3-2 at home in the last round of the group stage. This victory was PSV's fourth in their last five Champions League matches, with the club scoring at least three goals in each win. The Dutch team managed to climb to 14th in the standings and secured a seeded status in the playoffs.

Defenders Olivier Boscagli and Adamo Nagalo, midfielder Malik Tillman, and forward Ricardo Pepi will not play due to injuries.

  • The club has not won in regular time in 7 of their last 9 away matches in the Champions League (3 draws, 4 losses).
  • The team has conceded at least two goals in 6 of their last 9 away matches in this European competition.
  • PSV has failed to score in the first half in 7 of their last 9 away games in the Champions League.

Predicted lineup for PSV (4-3-3)

Juventus vs. PSV: Match Prediction

With the support of their fans, the Turin side aims to play from a position of strength against opponents of any level. As a result, Juventus regularly scores in home matches: in their last 24 home Champions League games, the club failed to score in regular time only four times. Moreover, in half of these matches, the Italians scored at least twice. However, their defense has not always been reliable, with only one clean sheet in their last eight home games in this European competition.

PSV also plays boldly in attack, even away from home, and has no issues with scoring: in 15 of their last 18 away matches in the Champions League, the club has breached the opponent's defense. Additionally, the Dutch side scored six goals in their last two group stage matches. However, their defense is not as solid: in their last 13 away games in this tournament, PSV has not kept a clean sheet.

I expect a high-scoring game from both sides, so my prediction: Both teams to score – yes

Juventus — PSV betting tips 11 Feb 2025

Five months after their group-stage opener in Turin, where Juventus secured a victory over PSV Eindhoven (3:1), the two sides meet again in the Champions League knockout rounds. While the Dutch side have shown improvements, Juventus still hold a clear advantage in terms of squad quality and experience.

Juventus comfortably navigated the final phase of the group stage despite a  defeat to Benfica (0:2), which did not prevent them from making the top 24. Since then, they have bounced back impressively with back-to-back wins over Empoli (4:1) and Como (2:1), generating 3.33 xG across those two Serie A matches. Juventus seem to have adapted well to defensive absences, with Timothy Weah stepping in for the injured Pierre Kalulu, while new signings Renato Veiga and Lloyd Kelly have also slotted into the squad.

PSV Eindhoven, on the other hand, edged a victory over a heavily rotated Liverpool side (3:2) in the final round of the Champions League group stage. However, they have since lost momentum domestically, squandering their lead over Ajax. Their draw with Willem II (1:1) on Saturday marked their fourth match in the last five without a win. To make matters worse, manager Peter Bosz is dealing with multiple injury absences, further limiting his options.

Juventus’ winter signing Randal Kolo Muani has made an instant impact, scoring five goals in his first three appearances for the club. Back in September, PSV Eindhoven conceded three times in Turin by the start of the second half, recording 2.57 xGA in that game. Given their recent struggles and defensive vulnerabilities, another win for Juventus looks likely.
